Ben & Leslie wanted a wedding day that was intimate, meaningful, and true to them. From our first Zoom call, we had a feeling Roan Mountain would be the perfect location—and it was. They were up for a little hiking, so it made the experience even better.
The day started at their cabin, where we captured detail shots and getting ready moments. Their first look happened right outside in a quiet spot, and it was such a sweet, genuine moment. Even with their loved ones there, they stayed completely focused on each other. Having their family be part of their day while still making it feel like an adventure was exactly what they wanted.
After getting ready, we hiked up to their ceremony spot, where they exchanged vows with the mountains as their backdrop. They celebrated with a champagne toast, had their first dance right there on the mountaintop, and Leslie even shared a dance with her brother—it was a really special moment.
As the sun started to set, we explored the area with just the two of them while their family soaked in the views. The weather was perfect for a November day, and the whole experience felt effortless and natural.
